PHOENIX, January 14, 2019 – HELP Inc., the non-profit provider of PrePass weigh station bypass and toll payment services, has announced the promotion of Steve Vaughn to Vice President of Field Operations.
Since February 2014, Vaughn has served as HELP’s National Director of Field Operations. He will continue to oversee liaison efforts with state agencies with whom HELP Inc. partners but will also play a larger role in at least two areas: oversight of HELP’s contractual relationships and augmenting HELP’s outreach to federal agencies, Congressional leaders, strategic partners and others involved in truck safety programs throughout the country.
Prior to joining HELP Inc., Vaughn was a principal of SJV Consulting for eight years, providing guidance to a range of clients in transportation, public safety, government liaison and insurance.
Vaughn served with the California Highway Patrol from 1980 to 2008. As Chief of the Enforcement Services Division, he was responsible for providing statewide oversight for commercial vehicle regulation, inspection, and enforcement. Vaughn also served on a number of Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) committees and task forces, and as CVSA President in 2000-2001. He is currently a member of the Truck & Bus Safety Committee of the Transportation Research Board (TRB), has served on and chaired a number of committees for American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) and been involved in the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITSA) and the California Peace Officers Association.
“Steve’s extensive background in all aspects of commercial vehicle safety, as well as his prior work for HELP Inc. in developing and implementing HELP’s truck safety policies, make him an outstanding candidate for promotion,” said Karen Rasmussen, HELP’s Chief Executive Officer.
“We congratulate him and wish him well in his new role,” she said.
