As we reach the midpoint of 2026, several toll agencies have announced rate adjustments, and additional tolled roads are being added across the country. Below is a summary of tolling updates introduced so far this year, along with upcoming changes that may impact your routes and operating budget.
These toll changes are established by the respective tolling agencies and do not reflect PrePass service fees.
Confirmed 2026 toll rate updates:
- PA Turnpike (PTC): 4% increase effective January 4, 2026
- Port Authority NY/NJ (PANYNJ): $0.25 per axle increase for Classes 2-6, continuing annually through 2028
- Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge (NYSTA): Scheduled increases in January 2026 and 2027
- Bay Area Toll Authority (BATA): Annual increases from 2026-2030
- Colorado CTIO: Proposed 3% increase for 2026
- MTA Bridges & Tunnels (MTAB&T): All toll rates will increase 7.5% at all facilities.
- New Jersey Turnpike Authority: 3% toll increase on Turnpike and Parkway drivers, effective January 1, 2026.
- Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC): Increases for tolls on eight bridges that cross from New Jersey and Pennsylvania. New uniform system-wide rates set to begin on or about January 1, 2026.
- Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT): The Downtown and Midtown tunnels will see rate increases come Jan. 1, 2026, according to Elizabeth River Crossings.
- Ohio Turnpike (OTC): 2.7% increase effective January 1, 2026.
- Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA): Montgomery County’s SH-249 Tollway increase effective January 1, 2026.
- Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority (FBCTRA): 2% CPI adjustment effective January 1, 2026.
- Indiana Toll Road Authority (ITRCC): 1.5% increase on June 30, 2026
- Golden Gate Bridge (GB): July 1, 2026 – $0.50 per axle increase
- Pocahontas Parkway (POCA): April 1, 2026
- North Carolina (NCTA): January 1, 2026 – 3% increase on Triangle and Monroe Expressway
- Riverlink: Ohio River Bridges (RIVE): July 1, 2026 – 3.8% increase
More changes can be announced for 2026 in the future.

- Kansas (KTA): 69 Express, express lanes between 103rd and 151st streets – expected January 2026
- Washington (WSDOT): SR 167 completion, connects I-5 to SR 509 – expected late 2026
- Washington (WSDOT): SR 509 Expressway – now open
- Florida (FCE): Clay County segment 2 began tolling Sept 15, 2025
- Virginia (VDOT): 495 Express Lanes extension – expected late 2025/early 2026
- Maryland (MDTA): I-95 NB Extension, 6.5 mile extension of I-95 Express – now open
- California (TCA): I-80 Express Lanes, Bay Area – now open
- Texas (TEXpress): New lanes on I-635 East and I-30 in Tarrant County – expected late 2025
- Texas (CTRMA): 183A 5 mile extension from Hero Way to SH 29 – now open
Please note: Many agencies adjust rates annually based on inflation (CPI), often without formal announcements.
