What is SH 130?

A 91-mile corridor, SH 130 provides an alternative to one of the most congested sections of I-35 in the
heart of the Texas Triangle. SH 130 has paved the way for trucking fleets as an easy workaround from I-35
and its notorious congestion. SH 130 is a safe, reliable, time-saving, and cost-eƯective alternative.

Why Use SH 130?

Drivers traveling through central Texas are familiar with the challenges in driving I-35 between Austin and
San Antonio, congestion to construction slowdown.

Designed to save time and operational costs, the benefit of switching to SH 130 from I-35 may include:

Safety: SH130 drivers are 80% less likely to experience a crash than those traveling on I-351
Efficiency: Up to 55 minutes in drive-time savings on average compared to the alternative section
of I-352
Reliability: Drivers on SH 130 experience 99% on-schedule arrivals compared to 20% on I-353
Cost savings: Fuel costs from idling, wear and tear on brakes and tires can all add up for trucks
sitting in congestion

I-35 by the Numbers

When comparing SH 130 to alternative routes, including I-35, the value is clear:

• 5x Lower risk of accident than comparable routes
• 55 – Save up to 55 minutes during peak afternoon drive times
• 90 – Percentage of on-schedule arrivals vs 20% on I-35
