FMCSA Updates Crash Preventability Determination Program
For the past three years the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has accepted requests to review truck involved crashes to determine if they were non-preventable. If FMCSA determines the crash was not preventable by the trucking company or driver, then it is not used in federal motor carrier safety score calculations. Most recently, FMCSA moved to expand this program, which could help more truckers involved in non-preventable accidents. Read more in the PrePass blog.

Eleos, a leading provider of fleet management software solutions, has partnered with PrePass Safety Alliance to integrate the PrePass weigh station bypass services into the Eleos platform. FMCSA Flagging Motor Carriers with Outdated Government Forms
“Flags” are flying at the FMCSA. The agency is “flagging” motor carriers which have not updated their MCS-150 forms within the past two-years. Those motor carriers will receive closer scrutiny from the federal government and its law enforcement partners. Closer scrutiny is not always a good thing.
