GROENDYKE’S HUTCHINSON TERMINAL REACHES SAFETY MILESTONE

Groendyke Transport’s Hutchinson terminal recently set a company record for consecutive miles without an at-fault accident.

Between July 2014, and February 2016, drivers at the Hutchinson terminal combined to accumulate 11,905,472 consecutive safe miles, eclipsing the previous company record set by the same terminal in 2001. During that run, Hutchinson’s drivers amassed more than 10 million miles between September 1997 and April 2001.

“This is an impressive accomplishment for our drivers. Considering the company has been in business for more than 80 years, to hold both the No. 1 and No. 2 spots on the terminal safe miles list is truly humbling,” said Hutchinson terminal manager Mark Munds. “Our drivers, mechanics and the entire terminal staff have a persistent dedication to safety, and it shines through in their accomplishments. From providing the latest in safety technology, to regular safety meetings and training sessions, we strive to ensure the safety of the motoring public and our drivers as well as the protection of the environment and property.”
